Amber
25 years ago, we started our operation directly in Jacagua (Acagua) north of the city of Santiago de los Caballeros at the foot of the mountain range where Dominican Amber is found, in the Caribbean, in the Dominican Republic. We have been specializing in the extremely rare version, the BLUE amber.
Larimar
Members of our family live close to the extinguished volcano complex where this BLUE pectolite (called Larimar) is found and have with direct access to the mine. The mine is just one square kilometer of land and the only place on the whole planet where Larimar is found.
Lariamber is an operation of AMBARAZUL, LLC. But our office for Dominican gems is located in Buena Vista, in the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean.

I want to let you know that I have looked at about 50 pieces of the fossiliferous rough from La Bucara and these are my impressions so far. First, the pieces are quite large overall. Thank you! Second, in nearly all of the pieces I can see at least one inclusion of some sort. Of course, sanding/polishing the pieces could reveal something missed. So, I am very pleased overall! Doug Lundberg’s prices are higher than what I would want to pay per piece. Besides, you have shown yourself faithful to me in providing good quality fossiliferous rough. I’ll try to let you know if I make any interesting/rare finds. I am very grateful to have amber from a different mine. These are my first pieces of La Bucara amber. Thanks again!

Just got home … it was sitting a the door and have just “strung” them together to see what they look like The colour is superb – so different from the Baltic Amber that I have. I didn’t mention that I’m a bit of an amber fan with lots of pieces in various colours. I can make it into a very nice bracelet – but it will need “padding out” with a couple of gold beads. I don’t suppose you would consider another order? As I said I can make do with these ones, but some more would be even better

I have safely received the Blue item of the last purchase very fast ! These 2 nice specimens are a kind of lighthouse of very nice blue amber that I was waiting for ! Naturally, I will wait the daylight (!!) in Quebec winter with about no UV indice…) to appreciate them in a natural way. The package of blue amber chips arrived astonishingly fast.
I soaked and cleaned each piece of the amber, and wonder colours were revealed to me. Just like your descriptions state-electric blues, pale sheens over yellow, purple and red, and cherry, and colours that don’t have names. And this was seen by rain-gloomy daylight. What will the bright sun reveal?
We are now researching the lapidary methods for amber, and will soon start polishing.
